Yes It does. Belly dancing forces a certain amount of effort to be put into your core with every step and it creates a positive environment for you to work better in. One way to put it is to say that a belly dancer gives you more of a push in one direction or another. You feel more balanced and in control when the body is pushing. To be more specific, the hips must be in alignment so that you can move freely. For a belly dancer, it’s not a matter of sitting up a bit because the hips remain in their optimal position. They also move freely in their hips so that you can move freely. It is this movement of the hips that creates balance on the legs and body. Belly dancing also helps you build a good, smooth posture in your body. This creates a lot of tension in your body and can be an indicator of bad habits. For example, when your feet are slightly on the floor, you are almost bound to have a stiff back. You have to work hard to make sure your back doesn’t move up and down, which gives your legs an unnecessary degree of tension. Belly dancing also teaches the core the principles of good posture and this results in an abundance of stability and ease in movement. Belly dancing also takes some time to master but as you continue to practice, you’ll find that it becomes extremely easy. Belly dancing is not only a good fitness activity but a great exercise. It also helps prevent many common health problems like high blood pressure and arthritis. Some studies show that abdominal movements contribute to weight loss by decreasing abdominal fat. These benefits are especially effective for young girls and can even be beneficial for those with excess pounds.
